The Ca' del Gallo Bed & Breakfast guesthouse is located in a very quiet area of Venice; its location is ideal to reach any destination of your choice, both on foot and by public transportation. It is an excellent outpost to the heart of the city. It is easily reachable from any access point to the city as it is only a 5-minute walk from Piazzale Roma (the bus and car terminal to/from the local airport) and a 10-minute one from Santa Lucia train station.
This ideal location makes it possible for you to take any cultural-historical route once in the city, whether you may want to reach the nearby Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari (at the walking distance of 5 minutes) with the Scuola Grande di San Rocco (where some Tintoretto works are exhibited), or the famous Rialto bridge (15 minutes away on foot). Alternatively, you may want to take a different 15-minute cultural-historical route and reach the Accademia bridge crossing the mythic and romantic Grand Canal, the only wooden bridge in the city. Here is the starting point of a route underpinned by art galleries, museums and private collections; among the latter is the very famous collection established by the “dogaressa” Peggy Guggenheim.
Ca' Del Gallo is also really close to one of city's friendliest “campi” (local squares), the gathering point for people of all ages: Campo Santa Margherita, where students, tourists and locals meet; there you will find several pubs, pizza restaurants, a homemade ice-cream parlor, a supermarket and a pharmacy.
In addition, a few minutes walk will take you to Piazzale Roma, where any type of water transportation is available to any destination within the city.
